Thrissur
By Our Staff Reporter
THRISSUR, MARCH 13. The Ombudsman for Local Self-Government, Justice K. P. Radhakrishna Menon, today said it would be nearly impossible to enforce human values through legal stipulations or court directives. Inaugurating the State professional students' meeting organised by the Mujahid Students' Movement (MSM) at Manakkodi near here Mr. Menon said ethical values stem from spiritual grace generated by the devotion to God. There could be a renaissance in society only by providing education that was based on ethical values. The natural equilibrium of the world could be preserved only if the modern generation was freed from the consumer culture, he said. A resolution adopted at the meeting expressed grave concern over the move by mainstream political parties to catch votes by stirring up communal passions. The resolution said it would be great danger if the students' community remained silent when discussions were going on in the country on the need of the very existence of secularism. The MSM State president, K. Shahadad, presided.
