THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MARCH 13. The Higher Secondary examination - physics paper, old scheme - scheduled for March 15, has been postponed to March 26. This examination is being postponed in view of the report submitted by the Higher Secondary Examination Board Secretary who conducted an inquiry into the incident where the question paper for the physics examination in the old scheme was opened at the KSP Higher Secondary School, Kavassery. The chief superintendent and the deputy chief superintendent responsible for the incident have been removed from examination duties. Appropriate action would be taken against them, a press note issued by the Higher Secondary director here today said. This examination would now be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on March 26. The physics examination, as per the new scheme, would be held in the afternoon of March 15. The examination that has been postponed is the one being held for those who failed these examinations in 2002 or before and have applied to reappear in March 2004. The question paper for this examination will carry 150 marks. Only 1,271 candidates have registered for this examination and it is being conducted in 513 centres, the release said. Candidates who had appeared for the examination for the first time in 2003, failed and are writing again and those who are writing the examinations for the first time in March 2004, should write the examination as per the new scheme.
