Correction

With reference to the report , "A vote for Vajpayee will serve State's interests: CM" which appeared in The Hindu dated March 13, 2004, the Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary, Jayalalithaa, had only stated at the public meeting at Vellore on Friday that her and her party's stand on the Cauvery issue has always been that the Cauvery River Authority would not serve any purpose in solving the problem of the delta farmers. She did not refer to the judicial and adjudicating agencies such as the Supreme Court and the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal. The error is regretted.
