COIMBATORE, MARCH 13.: The Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) has advised people who are desirous of buying housing sites to be cautious about encumbrance details, especially in areas such as Idayarpalayam, Anna Nagar, Kalapatti and Vilankurichi. In a release here, the Executive Engineer, R. Mariappan, said that TNHB had initiated land acquisition proceedings in Ganapathy, Saravanampatti, Kalapatti, Vilankurichi, Vellakinaru, Thudialur, Vadavalli, Veeerakeralam, Kavundampalayam, Telugupalayam, Krishnarayapuram, Sowripalayam and Uppipalayam villages. In this connection the landowners had chosen to move the Madras High Court and the court ruled in favour of the TNHB. At this juncture, the TNHB had come to understand that some of the landowners were trying to dispose of the lands with bogus approval and survey numbers. People buying such land would be doing so at their own risk and the TNHB would in no way be responsible for the losses incurred by way of buying such land. People intending to buy land in these areas may contact the TNHB, Coimbatore Housing Unit office in Sivananda Colony
