Father, daughter die in mishap

A fourth class student, Sevli Adhikari, and her father, Ranjan Adhikari, were fatally run over by a lorry under the Balanagar police station limits on Saturday.

According to the police, Ranjan Adhikari, a resident of Prashanth Nagar in Kukatpally, and his daughter were on their way to St. Martins High School to attend the parents' day function when the lorry hit the Kinetic Honda on which they were going.

Three die in accidents

A student of the Government High School, N. Bhasker (11), died after the cycle he was riding was hit by a van at Gandlagudem in Yacharam on Friday. He was the son of Phool Singh and a resident of Gourilla village.

In another accident, a mechanic, G Raju (35) of Nadargul, died after the moped he was riding hit by a lorry on Nagarjuna Sagar road last night. He was returning home when the mishap occurred.

In a separate accident, Y. Pentaiah, a resident of Weaker Sections Colony, who suffered severe head injuries when an autorickshaw hit him while he was crossing the road at Medchal on March 9, died this morning while undergoing treatment in hospital.

Held on murder charge

The Ramachandrapuram police on Saturday arrested Ch. Madhava Rao of Ramachandrapuram village in Medak district, who allegedly killed his wife and two children, and survived suicide attempt on February 26. He was arrested on murder and attempt to commit suicide charge.

Succumbs to burns

Srinivas of Vadderbasti in Kanchanbagh, who reportedly set himself ablaze at his residence on March 9, died on Friday night while undergoing treatment at Osmania General Hospital. He was the son of Sumannappa. Srinivas was running a petty business and ran into losses. It is learnt that on the night of March 9, when Srinivas asked his father for Rs. 100, he refused. Following this, he reportedly resorted to the extreme step.

Gold chain snatched away

Two scooter-borne miscreants snatched away a gold chain from a housewife, G. Jayamma near Bowenpally post-office on Friday.

In another incident, a housewife, G. Laxmi, was relieved of her gold chain while she was travelling in an RTC bus on Friday.

Her husband, G. Narsing Rao lodged a complaint with the Asifnagar police.
