CHENNAI, MARCH 13. An armed five-member gang broke into a house on Mudichur road, Tambaram, on Friday night, attacked the house-owner and robbed his wife of a gold chain, weighing five sovereigns. The incident happened around 10 p.m., according to police sources. Kandavel, the house-owner, sustained head injuries when he tried to intervene. The gangsters escaped after snatching the chain from his wife. Kandavel was taken to hospital and discharged after treatment, according to Chengai East police.
