Man arrested for death of his son

BANGALORE, MARCH 13. A man was clubbed to death allegedly his father at their house in Koramangala police station limits on Saturday.

The police gave the name of the deceased as Vajresh (25), a labourer and resident of Iggalur village on Sarjapur Road. Around 10.30 a.m., Vajresh allegedly abused his wife and tried to assault her. Upset by his behaviour, his father, Muniyappa, allegedly hit him on the head with a club. Vajresh died on the spot, the police said. The Koramangala police have registered a case and arrested Muniyappa.

Two killed

Sunil Kumar Dubey (25) of Jalahalli West who was injured when a BMTC bus hit the motorcycle on which he was riding pillion near Devanandarapalya in Yeshwanthapur police station limits on Friday died at a private hospital, the police said. The motorcycle rider, Pavan Singh (20), was injured. The police have seized the bus and are on the lookout for its driver.

Samsher (28) of Nayandahalli was killed on the spot when a maxi-cab dashed against his scooter on Kanakapura Road, off Kumaraswamy Layout, on March 9. Dastagir, who was riding pillion, was injured, the police said. The Banashankari traffic police have seized the maxi-cab.

Arrested

Gangammanagudi police arrested four persons, including a woman, who had allegedly assaulted and robbed a KSRTC employee of a gold chain and a ring on Thursday night.

The police recovered from the accused four gold rings, a chain, two mobile phones, and Rs. 800. The names of the arrested were given as Reshma alias Shabana (22) of Mysore, Rajesh alias Raju (27) of Gubbi taluk in Tumkur district, and Balaji (18) and Peter (18) of Jalahalli in the city.

Girl killed

A seven-year-old girl and a 11-year-old boy died in separate incidents in the city on Friday.

The police said Reshma (7), daughter of Babu, was riding a bicycle at Kamalangar in Basaveshwanagar when she was knocked down by a lorry near her house. She reportedly came under the wheels of the lorry.

In another incident, Venkatesh (11) of Ramamurthinagar, his brother, Srinivas (9), and another boy had gone to the Horamavu Lake for fishing. Venkatesh reportedly got caught in the silt and died.
