This Day That Age
High denomination notes will once again be introduced by the Reserve Bank from April 1 this year, after a lapse of about seven years. A Reserve Bank press note issued in Madras on March 15 said that notes of the denominations of Rs.1,000, Rs.5,000 and Rs.10,000 will be issued on April 1, from the offices of the bank at all centres. In this connection, the attention of the public is particularly invited to the fact that these notes are completely different in design, watermark and colour scheme from the old high denomination notes.
