BIJAPUR, MARCH 14. While the leaders and the workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party are busy preparing for the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani, here on Monday, the police are making security arrangements. According to the earlier programme, the meeting to be addressed by Mr. Advani was to be held at the district stadium. However, the venue has been shifted to Darbar High School ground as a musical nite in which Rajkumar, Kannada film star, participated was held at the stadium on Sunday. The police searched nearby buildings and deployed security personnel at several places. The Special Protection Group responsible for Mr. Advani's security took control of the dais and the ground today. The Union Minister of State for Railways, Basanagouda R. Patil Yatnal; the Inspector-General of Police, North-West Zone, Belgaum, Om Prakash; and the Superintendent of Police, Seemanth Kumar Singh, reviewed the security arrangements. Mr. Advani is expected here at 4.30 p.m. He will enter the city at Sindagi Naka and come to the venue by Station Road. While vehicular traffic will not be allowed on Station Road and the city from 2 p.m. to the end of Mr. Advani's programme, there will restrictions on heavy vehicles on other roads. The stretch of the National Highway 13 between Alamatti and Solapur will be closed till Mr. Advani's vehicle reaches the latter. Barricades are being erected on all lanes leading to Station Road on the stretch between Basaveshwar Chowk and Sindagi Naka.
