Ingenious bomb-makers add two more to their list

ANANTAPUR, MARCH 14. Although Anantapur is known as a perennially drought-hit district, there is a flood of fresh ideas always, albeit for wrong motives. After making it to the front pages of several newspapers, the bomb-makers of the district, by making a variety of lethal explosive devices like TV bombs, car bombs, suitcase bombs and ice cream seller's box bombs, have added two more varieties to the list recently.

The new products are `motorcycle bomb' and `cigarette pack bomb.' While the rivals of a TDP leader's follower placed bombs underneath the seat of his motorcycle at Kothacheruvu, the police seized cigarette pack bombs from its maker in B.K.Samudram today. The TDP activist's rivals were said to have cut the seat cover of the motorcycle carefully and placed bombs and small stones when he gave his two-wheeler for servicing.

The TDP activist came to know about the explosives planted when he noticed that his vehicle's seat cover was not proper.

He noticed that the seat was cut and pasted later. He informed the police immediately.

The bomb-maker of B.K.Samudram, Mondi Sreenivasulu, invented the cigarette pack bomb by making it in a `Gold Flake Filter' 20s pack. It can be carried even in the shirt or trouser pocket without giving any space for suspicion.

According to the police, the bomb-maker was selling each cigarette pack bomb at Rs. 400 against the making cost of Rs. 200. It can have an impact in a 10-yard radius and can be lethal if aimed on a human's body.
