Letters to the Editor
Sir, The recent attack on the PIB building in Srinagar was a poignant reminder of the fact that although both India and Pakistan are keen on solving the Kashmir issue through political and people-to-people confidence-building measures, terrorists are unwilling to concede any ground. The peace process will not succeed unless Pakistan destroys the terrorist training camps. Siddhartha Raj Guha, Jabalpur, M.P. * * * Sir, The Prime Minister has said that public opinion in India and Pakistan should lead politicians to find a "pragmatic and acceptable" solution to the Kashmir dispute. The Deputy Prime Minister has gone a step ahead and said India is ready for give-and-take to make peace on the Kashmir question. But what is the give-and-take, given that the countries have held diametrically opposite views on Kashmir? The only solution is "neither give nor take" but accept the present Line of Control as the permanent border. V.S. Venkatavaradan, Salem, T.N.
