HYDERABAD, MARCH 14. Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, the former Congress Legislature Party leader, on Sunday decried the alleged attempt of the Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, to make an issue of his letter to women in the State in connection with the International Women's Day. In a statement issued here, Dr. Reddy ridiculed Mr. Naidu's remarks that he had printed 10 lakh copies of the letter and a complaint would be lodged on the issue with the Election Commission. "It is regrettable that Mr. Naidu is uttering falsehood when myself or the Congress had not stated that 10 lakh copies of the letter were printed", he maintained. Dr. Reddy contended that Mr. Naidu was seeking to rake up a controversy over the letter issue for diverting the attention from the case registered by the Election Commission against the Telugu Desam Party for printing a booklet on 100 months of the TDP Government. The former CLP leader pointed out that it was ironical the Chief Minister was talking of complaining to the Election Commission when he had himself spent crores of public funds on printing the booklet and sent it to people. He claimed that Mr. Naidu was seeking to make the letter an issue, as he was afraid that his alleged cheating of women during the past nine years was exposed in it.
