VISAKHAPATNAM, MARCH 14. Lebenshilfe -- an association for the welfare of special children -- will hold a two-day symposium on `Sensory limitations-sensitising families' here on Monday and Tuesday. A behavioural therapist and teacher in the Takasaki University of Health and Welfare (Japan), Ryo Takahashi, will address parents and professionals dealing with special children and give them tips on how to overcome behavioural problems. The occupational therapists from Netherlands -- Ellis Goede and Irma Rusche -- will also share their experiences on how special children can behave normally. The executive trustee of the Nomura Trust for Lifelong Integrated Education, Y. Naoko, the Municipal Commissioner, Navin Mittal, the Lebenshilfe Director, T. Saraswati Devi, the Municipal Corporation education officer, M.V. Subba Rao, and others, will speak. A fellow of the International Association of Scientific Studies for Intellectual Disabilities, Dr. Ryo told reporters on Sunday that all physical disabilities could be overcome effectively with proper management. Teachers and family members of people suffering from disabilities should extend a humane touch while handling them.
