Investment seminar

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MARCH 14. A seminar on investment opportunities, `Invest Futura-1004' was organised by the finance wing of the TKM Institute of Management in the city today. The seminar was inaugurated by the Finance Minister, K. Sankaranarayanan. The president of the Association o Mutual Funds India, A. P. Kurian, spoke on various aspects related to mutual funds. Applications invited

Applications have been invited from school and college students for admission to the painting classes to be conducted by the Chithrakalamandalam during April and May. Special training would also be provided on various aspects of clay modelling as well as on the finer aspects of painting by experts. Those who wish to take party in the classes are to contact the secretary of the Chithrakalamandalam at Thakarapparambu road before March 25. (Phone- 2471311, 2465942, 3277901).

Office-bearers

R. Kumaran Nair has been elected as president of the Thiruvananthapuram unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad at its annual meeting held in the city on Sunday. V. Gopalakrishnan has been elected as vice-president, Manacaud Sekharan Nair as secretary, Sasthamangalam N. Suresh Kumar as joint secretary, Attukal Mohanan as the head of the Bajrang Dal and D. Padmakumari as the head of the Mathrumandalam respectively. The annual meeting was inaugurated by Swami Abhayananda Theerthapada.

Appeal

The Land Use Board Commissioner, K. J. Alphons, has appealed to voluntary agencies to create awareness among the people for conservation of water in the State. Inaugurating a seminar on water conservation organised by the Kerala Voluntary Agencies League (KAVAL) in the city, he said that water crisis in the State could be overcome by effective water management practices. , P. C. Jain, also spoke.
