NEW DELHI, MARCH 14. An unattended bag lying on a chair in the parking area of the Domestic Terminal of the Indira Gandhi International Airport created panic as upon its detection the security personnel resorted to anti-sabotage checks fearing it might be containing an explosive. The bag was detected by Head Constable Satbir Singh of the Central Industrial Security Force at around 12-30 p.m. on Thursday and information about it was immediately passed to the seniors. Subsequently, announcements about it presence at the spot were made over the public address system. But when despite repeated attempts no one clame forward to claim it, the CISF called the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad. However, everyone heaved a sigh of relief when it was revealed that the bag only contained some personal clothing items and jewellery worth about Rs 30,000. Subsequently, the bag was deposited with the Airport Manager by the security personnel so that its rightful owner may be able to claim it. Meanwhile, in another incident on March 12, a Nokia mobile phone was found by a CISF constable, Arvind Kumar, in the Arrival Lounge of the International Terminal. The security personnel then made announcements over the PA system following which the owner of the phone came forward to claim it.
