NEW DELHI, MARCH 14. The Union Tourism and Culture Minister, Jagmohan, today accused the Delhi Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit, of being guilty of "contempt of court" on the issue of relocation of slum clusters from Yamuna Pushta. Reacting to the statement of Ms. Dikshit on Saturday, in which she had alleged that Mr. Jagmohan was responsible for relocation of slum clusters from the Yamuna Pushta, the Union Minister in a statement regretted she was resorting to intentional disinformation campaign. "Ms. Dikshit very well knows that clearance of squatters and highly polluting factories, godowns, cattle sheds, kabari godowns, and commercial shops from Yamuna Pushta has been ordered by the Divisional Bench of the Delhi High Court and the work of clearance had started and a part of Pushta cleared, when a communication in this regard was received from Election Commission," he said in a statement. By opposing the relocation of slum clusters, she is violating the directive of the court in this regard. Mr. Jagmohan said permission has been taken by the Election Commission for further continuation of the slum relocation process from Yamuna Pushta. He further said: "Ms. Dikshit, in fact, is guilty of contempt of Supreme Court as her Government had earlier given an affidavit in the Supreme Court in Yamuna Maili Case, swearing all polluting industries from Delhi have been removed, while actually scores of such industries are still operating in Yamuna Pushta alone." The Minister also distributed copies of a number of photographs showing running of such illegal industries and godowns from Yamuna Pushta.
