Clear sky forecast

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, MARCH 14.MARCH 14.MA The weatherman has forecast a mainly clear sky in the Capital on Monday. The maximum and minimum temperatures would hover around 33 and 17 degrees Celsius respectively.

The maximum and minimum temperature recorded at Safdarjung on Sunday were 34.5 and 17.8 degrees Celsius respectively while Palam recorded a maximum of 34.6 degrees Celsius and minimum of 17.8 degrees Celsius.

The maximum humidity at Safdarjung was 86 per cent and the minimum was 22 per cent. At Palam, the maximum humidity stood at 88 per cent, while minimum at 18 per cent.

House collapse in Palam

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, MARCH 14.MARCH 14.MA A two-storey building collapsed at Palam village in South-West Delhi today. However, no one was reportedly injured in the incident. According to the police, the incident took place around 11-15 a.m. when the building, in which basement was being dug, caved in. A wall of the nearby house was also damaged. A case has been registered and the police are planning further action against the building owner.

Fake passport, man arrested

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, MARCH 14.MARCH 14.MA A person, who was allegedly trying to fly to the United Kingdom on a forged passport, was arrested at the Indira Gandhi International Airport this Saturday.

The accused, later identified as Sukhminder Singh, was about to board a KLM flight to the U.K. on Friday night when the immigration officials intercepted him for examination of his travel documents. They found that the cover page of his passport was forged. The passport had been issued in the name of Ravinder Bhat, a resident of Jammu.

Investigations revealed that no one by that name lived in Jammu, after which the accused was interrogated. He broke down and confessed to having procured the passport from some agent against payment of Rs. 2 lakhs by his father.

While he has been arrested, the police have sent a team to Punjab to trace the agent and his father.

Boy crushed to death

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, MARCH 14.MARCH 14.MA A three-year-old boy was crushed to death under the wheels of a Tata-407 outside his house at Mehrauli in South Delhi today. The erring driver has been arrested.

Around 12-15 p.m., Gopal, the son of Aman, was playing outside his Nebsarai house at Mehrauli when the Tata-407 ran over him while backing. Its driver, Rajeev, was arrested and a case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving registered at Mehrauli police station.
