BANGALORE, MARCH 14. The city's Palace Grounds will host "Rotex 2004 Roadscapes", said to be the largest auto exposition in South India, from April 9 to April 11. Organised by the Rotary Club of Bangalore Indiranagar, the event is supported by the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI). The exhibition will feature passenger vehicles, including cars, sports utility vehicles (SUVs) and two-wheelers; commercial vehicles, including trucks, buses, light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and mini vans; auto accessories and components with auto electronics, tyres, batteries, paints and lubricants besides auto finance and insurance companies. As many as 60 stalls of five different sizes will be put up at the exposition to accommodate leading manufacturers of cars, trucks, LCVs, two-wheelers and automobile accessories. A mega structure with an area of 40,000 sq ft will be installed behind the Bangalore Palace. Also on the agenda are vintage car and motorcycle rallies, exhibition of modified cars and motorcycles, test tracks for new vehicles and launch pads for new car and two-wheeler models. The exhibition will have business visitors between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Other visitors will be charged an entrance fee of Rs. 50 per head. The proceeds from the exhibition will be used to fund the Rotary Club's development projects such as Karunashraya for terminally ill cancer patients, the Rotary Makhija Indiranagar Vocational Training Institute, the Bharatiya Gramina Mahila Sangha, a place for destitute women and children, and Hamsadhvani, a school for the hearing impaired.
