Naidu to join Advani yatra

HYDERABAD, MARCH14. The Telugu Desam president and Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, will participate in the Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani's `Bharat Uday Yatra' at a couple of places in the city when it arrives here on March 16.

Stating this at a press conference on Sunday, the State BJP president, N. Indrasena Reddy, and the vice-president, S.V. Seshagiri Rao, said Mr. Naidu agreed to join the yatra when a delegation of BJP leaders met him this morning and extended a formal invitation.

Mr. Advani would address meetings at Ameerpet, RTC crossroads, Dilsukhnagar and Puranapul and Mr. Naidu might join him in the first two places.

The Chief Minister had on Saturday indicated that he was not averse to joining the yatra.Mr. Advani's yatra would enter the State on March 16 afternoon at Zaheerabad in Medak district. He would address two public meetings at Patancheru and Kukatpally before reaching the city. During his three-day tour, the BJP leader would pass through 11 Lok Sabha constituencies across eight districts of Telangana.

Meanwhile, the BJP general secretary, Pramod Mahajan, is arriving here on March 16 to meet Mr. Advani and hold parleys with Mr. Naidu on seat-sharing arrangement.
