Temperature set to rise

Mainly clear sky with maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be around 37 degree Celsius and 20 degree Celsius respectively has been forecast for Monday.

The maximum temperature recorded on Sunday was 36.9 degree Celsius and minimum temperature was 20.2 degree Celsius. Relative humidity was 13 per cent.

Best Student awards given

Students from various schools and colleges participated in painting, essay writing and cartoon competitions organised by the Vijay Arts Academy here on Sunday.

In all, 165 students were given the Best Student awards while 10 teachers and 14 Principals were also felicitated with awards. The Endowments Commissioner, K.V. Ramana Chary, cine producer, M.S. Reddy, the NIMS Director, Kakarla Subba Rao, and the Director of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's College of Communication and Management, C.V. Narasimha Reddy, gave away the awards, according to a press release issued here on Sunday.

Literacy House offers course

Literacy House of the Andhra Mahila Sabha is offering a course in `Communication skills for career development' from Monday.

Treat for book lovers

Exhibition on Hazrat

Salar Jung Museum is organising a special week-long book exhibition on martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain from Monday.

The Consul-General of Iran, Hussain Ravish, will inaugurate the exhibition and Nawab Ahtheram Ali Khan, member of the Museum Board, will release the folder. Sixty eight rare books and artefacts will be on display.

Spoken English courses

The English Language Teaching Centre (ELTC), Nizam College, will introduce Spoken English courses for housewives and beginners with emphasis on pronunciation and communication skills on Monday.

The classes will be conducted between 2.30 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. There will be 60 sessions of two-hour duration. For details the Director of ELTC can be contacted, according to a press release.
