2 teenagers drowned

Two teenagers -- Md. Nazeem (14), a student and Sk. Basheer (15), a vegetable vendor -- drowned in a tank at Khajiguda under Rayadurgam police station area on Sunday.

The victims were residents of Mehdipatnam First Lancer. They went to Khajiguda tank along with three of their friends -- Feroz, Hafeez and Saleem -- of the same locality. Since Nazeem and Basheer did not know swimming, they sat on the bank watching the others swim. After a while, though, the two youngsters also entered the tank and got drowned, the Rayadurgam Sub-Inspector, S. Bheem Reddy, said.

History-sheeter murdered

A history-sheeter, Syed Azeez Mahmood Tawaz alias Javed (30), was found murdered at Jirra hillocks in Asifnagar police station limits on Sunday. Multiple knife injuries were found on his abdomen and chest and a diary and mobile phone were recovered from the spot.

A native of Dabeerpura, Azeez shifted to Rehmatnagar in Jubilee Hills ten years ago. "He was involved in several offences.

He was released from jail two months ago.

Mobiles stolen

Unidentified persons took away mobile phones worth Rs. 60,000 from a Nokia show room located on Balanagar main road on Saturday night. This morning, the shop owner, Vinod Charia, noticed the shop shutter was up. He lodged a complaint with the Balanagar police.
