Elangovan resignation will not affect party prospects: Ramadoss

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI, MARCH 15. The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder leader, S. Ramadoss, today said the resignation of his erstwhile colleague, P.T. Elangovan, from the party would not in anyway affect the party's prospects in Dharmapuri.

Dr. Ramadoss, who initially refused to make any comment on the resignation later told this correspondent that he hoped that Mr. Elangovan would remain loyal to the party he had joined recently.

Mr. Elangovan, who was a founder member of the PMK and who was elected from Dharmapuri in the last Lok Sabha election was not renominated by the party. Protesting the denial of ticket, Mr. Elangovan resigned and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has given him the ticket to contest from Dharmapuri.
