Globalisation has hit theatre: actor

TUMKUR, MARCH 15. Speakers at the seminars, organised as part of "Nataka Jatre," said globalisation had affected theatre.

The two-day jatre concluded at Gubbi Veeranna Kalakshetra here on Monday. Mandya Ramesh, actor, said Kannada theatre was in a crisis owing to globalisation. He said: "We have a duty to save theatre from the danger of extinction. We must employ the language of the masses and experiment with new methods of presentation. Stage must be altered to suit people's taste." Babu Krishna Murthy, writer, And Gudihalli Nagaraj, President of Karnataka Journalists' Association, spoke.
