HYDERABAD, MARCH 15. The Hyderabad police are making elaborate security arrangements for the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani, to the city on Tuesday and Wednesday. For the first time, cell phones would be supplied to security personnel deployed on rooftops for better communication. Barricades would be set up on all sides along the procession route. Officials of the Task Force have been instructed to form special rope parties to control crowds. Organisers had been asked to post maximum number of volunteers to guide and regulate attendants of roadside meetings. The Additional Commissioner of Police (co-ordination), A.K. Khan, said that a meeting was held with the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders to discuss about the arrangements being made for Mr. Advani's visit. "As the first road side meeting would be held during peak hours of traffic 7 p.m. at Ameerpet, we appeal to people to avoid the procession route", Mr. Khan, said. No vehicles would be allowed to be parked along the procession route. Local inspectors and sector sub-inspectors have directed to step up patrolling in their respective jurisdiction.
