Govt. ignored reports on Telgi's hand in oil racket: Sangliana
By Our Staff Reporter
BANGALORE,
MARCH 15.
The former Bangalore City Police Commissioner, H.T. Sangliana, who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) recently, has said that the State Government ignored information about the alleged involvement of the main accused in the fake stamp paper racket, Abdul Kareem Telgi, in the adulterated oil business.
He told presspersons in Udupi that he was the first to inform the State Government about Telgi's role in kerosene dealing, along with that of R. Rehan Baig, brother of the former Minister, R. Roshan Baig. Mr. Sangliana said the Government had failed to properly assess the loss to the exchequer because of the sale of fake stamp papers.
