Cricket mania

Sir, — The President and the Prime Minister complimented the Indian cricket team on its victory over Pakistan in the one-day international at Karachi. No doubt, all Indians are happy but there ought to be a limit to the hype and celebration.

I can understand if the team has won the World Cup or an important tournament, but to congratulate the players for winning an ordinary match is a little too much.

S.S. Viswanathan,

Bangalore
