Vajpayee may address Chennai meeting

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI, MARCH 16. The Prime Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader, A.B. Vajpayee, is likely to address an election meeting here next month.

The State BJP spokesman, Y.S. Kannan, said the party had sent a request to the Prime Minister's Office, asking him to campaign here, as the BJP was fighting the north Chennai seat.

``There is a possibility of the Prime Minister addressing a meeting in Chennai.''

The national president, M. Venkaiah Naidu, would tour Dharmapuri tomorrow and Pondicherry and Chidambaram on Thursday.

Our Salem Staff Reporter reports:

Mr. Naidu would introduce the Dharmapuri's candidate, P.T. Elangovan, who recently shifted loyalty from the Pattali Makkal Katchi, to the cadres.
