This Day That Age
The Government of India have decided to centralise the system of issuing passports from several State Governments. This was announced by Mr. A.K. Chanda, Deputy Minister for External Affairs, in reply to Mr. S.N. Das in the House of the People on March 16. He said, that from an administrative point of view, it would be desirable to take over the work of issuing passports from the several State Governments. The details of the new set-up were in the process of being worked out.
