Dry weather CHENNAI, MARCH 17. Dry weather prevailed over Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep. The day was hot in parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh. On Tuesday, the maximum temperature rose appreciably at one or two places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka, rose at one or two places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, interior Tamil Nadu, fell at one or two places over the rest of the south coastal Andhra Pradesh and changed a little elsewhere over the region. They were markedly to appreciably above normal at many places over Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Tamil Nadu, above normal at one or two places over the rest of the Andhra Pradesh, the rest of Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka, Kerala and were generally normal over the rest of the region. A number of stations recorded the highest maximum temperature of 41 degree Celsius in the region. The minimum temperature fell markedly to appreciably at one or two places over Rayalaseema, Telangana, fell at one or two places over south interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, rose at one or two places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, the rest of Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka and changed a little elsewhere over the region. They were appreciably below normal at one or two places over coastal Tamil Nadu, Telangana, below normal at a few places over the rest of the Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, and at one or two places over south interior Karnataka, appreciably above normal at one or two places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, above normal at one or two places over the rest of the Rayalaseema, coastal Karnataka and were generally normal over the rest of the region. Vellore recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 17 degree Celsius in the plains of the region. FORECAST (valid until Friday morning): Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over South Tamil Nadu and south Kerala and mainly dry weather will prevail over north Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, north Kerala, Lakshadweep, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
