RANCHI, MARCH 17. Cracks further widened among NDA partners as the seat sharing talks between the BJP and JD(U) in Jharkhand virtually failed and the latter announced to contest all 14 seats on its own. The State Energy Minister, Lalchand Mahto, who along with other State party leaders, met party President and NDA Convenor George Fernandes in Delhi yesterday, said today over phone that as the talks with alliance partners failed to yield any result they had no alternative but to field candidates in all the seats in the State. The BJP had not conceded to their demand of four seats. Mr. Mahato said that the JD(U) High Command had told them that if any minister wanted to fight the election, it would be better that they should resign from NDA Government. -- UNI
