Chief Town Planner held

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM,
MARCH. 17.
The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) today arrested the Chief Town Planner of the State, V. Ramachandran, on charges of accepting bribe from one Mathukutty of Changnassery who was seeking clearance for constructing a shopping complex in Changanassery.
In his complaint to the Vigilance, Mathukutty said that Mr. Ramachandran had demanded Rs.10,000 for giving clearance to the project. Later, the bribe amount was reduced to Rs.5,000, he alleged. The Superintendent of Police (Vigilance), Madhu, said that marked notes were handed over to the complainant. The notes were later recovered from the person of the Chief Town Planner, he said.
