I will never desert Ayodhya: Katiyar
LUCKNOW,
MARCH 17.
The Bharatiya Janata Party's Uttar Pradesh unit president, Vinay Katiyar, has said that despite contesting the coming Lok Sabha elections from Lakhimpur Kheri, he would never desert Ayodhya.
Mr. Katiyar said he was sad at leaving his Faizabad constituency in which Ayodhya is located, but maintained that at times certain compulsions had to be faced.
Mr. Katiyar, a three-time MP from Faizabad, said he had visited Ayodhya yesterday, visited several temples and sought the blessings of the religious heads. ``I am a Hanuman bhakt and will go anywhere for work in respect of Lord Rama.''
``The people of Faizabad had always been affectionate to me,'' he said.
Mr. Katiyar created history in the district by being the first candidate to be elected MP three times from Faizabad in 1991, 1996 and 1999.
