Power supply to be disrupted

KOCHI, MARCH 17. Power supply to areas under the Tatapuram and Mulavukadu sub-stations will be disrupted from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. tomorrow owing to repair work on the 66 kv feeder line. Due to maintenance work to be carried out on lines along the Vytilla-Thammanam road, power supply to places between the Vytilla junction and Ponnurunni railway gate would also be disrupted between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday, KSEB officials said.

Seminar on music

The Department of Music of the Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit will organise a seminar on music at the Kanakadhara auditorium tomorrow. Yamuna Subramanyan, Director, Doordarshan Kendra will inaugurate the seminar. The veteran musician, V. Dakshinamurthy, will deliver a lecture on `Impact of Classical Music in Cinema' on March 20.

Essay competition

The Swadeshi Science Movement will organise an essay competition for school and college students in connection with a workshop on indigenous products scheduled to be held on March 29. The theme for the competition is `Industrialisation in Villages'. Essays not exceeding 10 pages certified by the school/college authorities should reach Swadeshi Science Movement, Sastra Bhavan, Mather Square, Town Railway station road, on or before March 25.

Results

The Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha has published the results of `pradhamik', `madhyama', `rashtrabhasha' and `praveshika' examinations conducted in February. The details of the results are available at all branches and recognised centres of the sabha.

Elected

M. V. Abraham Perumbavur and Benny Tuthiyoor have been elected president and secretary of the All Kerala Video and Photographers Association respectively
