Hyundai mulls price hike

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, MARCH 18 . Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) today said it planned a price hike in April due to rising input costs.

"Input costs for a car like Santro have gone up to the tune of 3-4 per cent. Our prices may go up somewhere between Rs. 8,500 and Rs. 11,000,'' the HMIL President, B. V. R. Subbu, said here.

Automakers like Maruti and Ford are also planning to jack up prices due to spiralling steel costs. The utility vehicle maker Mahindra and Mahindra has already effected a price rise, citing similar reasons. - PTI
