Tata Motors' new LCV variant
HYDERABAD: With the launch of the latest version of its popular model, Tata SFC 407, Tata Motors is looking at increasing its share of the LCV market (4 tonnes segment) from 72 per cent to 85 per cent. The latest version named Tata SFC 407 EX Turbo light commercial vehicle (LCV) comes with promise of better mileage of one km over the previous one, converting into savings of around Rs. 30,000 annually.
Other improved features include a higher payload of 400 kg, improved safety features, and a special underbody PVC coating, according to Prem Kumar Verma, Head, Sales and Marketing, LCV and SCV (small commercial vehicles), Tata Motors.
The company has sold 3.5 lakh Tata 407s during the last 17 years. In the overall LCV segment, it claims a market share of 45 per cent. The segment itself is growing at 10 per cent annually, he said. - Our Special Correspondent
