MADURAI, MARCH 20. With the water level in the Vaigai dam dripping everyday, the Corporation has begun groundwork for identifying more agricultural wells in the surroundings to supply minimum quantity of water through lorries. The Commissioner, A. Karthik, on Friday appealed to owners of wells and borewells to come forward to help the local body in easing the drinking water crisis during peak summer. He asked those, willing to share groundwater with the Corporation, to express their willingness in writing or orally to the officials. The water, after proper testing of the quality, would be utilised. The telephone numbers are: 0452 - 2538080, 2531116, 2530521 to 2530526; 98421-53345 and 98421 - 12404. Mr. Karthik also urged the residents to make judicious use of the available water resources.
