HYDERABAD, MARCH 20. The TDP and the Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday held parleys to identify seats to be shared between them to contest the coming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. After an hour-long talks at the Viceroy Hotel in the afternoon, the meeting was adjourned to evening as the Home Minister, T. Devender Goud, left for Adilabad to attend a public meeting. The meeting, however, did not resume till late in the night. The TDP was represented by the members on its panel coordinating affairs with the BJP - Mr. Goud, K. Kala Venkat Rao and P. Prabhakar Reddy, and the BJP by its State president, N. Indrasena Reddy, the general secretary, K. Haribabu, and the Union Minister of State for Urban Development, B. Dattatreya. Sources said the talks were locked at the demand of the BJP to contest the Hindupur and Nalgonda Lok Sabha seats, the latter in exchange for Medak, in addition to the seven parliamentary seats it contested last time - Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Karimnagar, Mahabubnagar, Rajahmundry, Narsapur and Tirupati. It may be recalled that the BJP was given nine Lok Sabha and 27 Assembly seats in the alliance with the TDP. It was said that the parties wanted to finalise the Lok Sabha seats before going to the Assembly segments.
