NEW DELHI, MARCH 20. The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC)'s publicity cell has decided to hold orientation seminars for its leaders, particularly block and district-level office-bearers, in all Assembly constituencies in the Capital so that they could campaign for their party candidate in the general elections in a planned manner. According to the DPPC Publicity Committee head, Vishwa Bandhu Gupta, through the seminars, the party leaders would be told how to highlight local problems of the electorate they were facing and how the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) had failed in solving them. Stating that senior Congress leaders would address office bearers and workers of the party, Mr. Gupta informed that at a recently held meeting of the Committee a comprehensive plan had already been worked out. "We will ask party workers to focus attention on elimination of bogus voters, scrutiny of voters' list and publicity plan at the block-level," he added. The party has also decided to make available to district presidents, block-level heads and MLAs copies of chargesheet against the BJP-led NDA Government prepared by senior Congress leaders so that it could be given maximum exposure in their areas. Workers would also take out "prabhat pheris" across the Capital carrying placards exposing the misdeeds of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government, Mr. Gupta said. Stating that their campaign would particularly focus on highlighting the Central Government's failure on unemployment and agriculture fronts, Mr. Gupta said, "Apart from staging street-plays in various constituencies, people will also be informed about the Congress party's new comprehensive website."
