According to the police, Sunil Kant, a resident of R.K. Puram Sector-8 in South-West Delhi, had gone to his father-in-law's house at Shyam Vihar, Phase-II, Najafgarh, last night to meet his wife. However, his father-in-law objected to his presence. This led to a heated argument between the two following which he called the Police Control Room around midnight. When a PCR van arrived and Constable Minge began making inquiries, an enraged Sunil allegedly stabbed him on the neck. Minge's colleagues, however, managed to overpower him. Minge was taken to hospital and discharged after first-aid as the injury was not serious. It came to light that Sunil and his wife were not on good terms and she had been staying with her parents for the past few days. Sunil had gone there apparently to bring her back. The Najafgarh police have registered a case and arrested Sunil.
