Three die in road accident

NELLORE, MARCH 21. Three persons died on the spot and four others were injured when an auto rickshaw, in which they were travelling, was hit by a lorry, near Naidupalem on the national highway, about 25 km from here on Sunday. According to the Kodavaluru police, the accident took place when the auto was proceeding towards Nellore, with a load of fish. The deceased have been identified as Govindu, Sk. Mastan and Sk. Kalesha. The injured have been admitted to the Government Headquarters Hospital, Nellore. The lorry driver has been taken into custody and further investigation is on.

One killed in land dispute

A dispute over a temple land in Kanupartipadu village of Nellore rural mandal has claimed one life on Sunday evening. According to the police, a row erupted between two groups over the land belonging to the Gangamma temple. On Sunday, the groups clashed leading to the stabbing of one, P. Sriramulu (50), who succumbed to injuries on way his way to the Government Headquarters Hospital, Nellore. Three others who were injured have been admitted to the hospital. The rural DSP, Eswaraiah, is investigating.
