Detainee dies

TIRUCHI, MARCH 21 . One person, who was reportedly picked up during a prohibition raid conducted by the Lalgudi police, died under mysterious circumstances today.

The police said Balakrishnan (32) had complained of stomach ache in the police station after which he was shifted to the K.A.P. Viswanatham Government Medical College Hospital, where he died.

The cause of death would be ascertained after postmortem, the police added.
