CHENNAI, MARCH 21. The Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee's statement made on Saturday, that he was contesting the election as he had fears that the country was sliding into anarchy threw enough hints that someone in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was making moves behind the Prime Minister's back, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) president, M. Karunanidhi, said. The statement was not an off-the-cuff remark as he seemed to have a suspicion that a net was being cast behind him for prime ministership. Talking to newsmen here today, Mr.Karunanidhi said that the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Uma Bharti's invitation to the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, for the ``kar seva'' showed that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Viswa Hindu Parishad were firm in their attempts at constructing a Ram temple to create ``anarchy'' in the country. Denying that there was misunderstanding between him and Vaiko, Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary, Mr. Karunanidhi said they met twice in the last one week. Referring to the Deputy Prime Minister, L.K.Advani's repeated attack on Mrs. Gandhi's foreign origin , he said that it would only boomerang on Mr.Advani.
