No power

COIMBATORE, MARCH 21. There will be no power supply in the following places on March 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. owing to shutdown of Irumbarai sub-station for maintenance work: Irumbarai, Pethikuttai, Sambaravalli, Kavundampalayam, Vaiyalipalayam, Illupanatham, Annadasampalayam, Akkarai Sengapalli, Vadakalur and Ambothi.

Grievances Day

The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board will conduct a grievances redressal meeting for consumers at the office of the Executive Engineer in Avinashi on March 24 at 11 a.m.

Symposium

The Avinashilingam University, in association with the British Council, Chennai, will hold a State-level seminar on `Empowerment of Women' on March 24. The District Collector N. Muruganandam, will inaugurate. The Secretary, Social Welfare and Noon Meal Programme, C.K. Gariyali, will deliver the keynote address.

Course

The Varahas Kshatriya Gurucool will conduct a 10-day programme on yoga and meditation from March 22. The course will include sessions on Surya Namaskar, asanas, deep breathing, relaxation, pranayama and benefits of Sadhana, mantra and meditation. For details contact: 2453151. A 17-day self-defence course will also be held from March 22.

Donation

The Coimbatore District Chit Funds Association will donate Rs. 1 lakh to Project Siruthuli towards revival of tanks in Coimbatore. The Coimbatore District Financiers Association has also announced a contribution of Rs. 25,000. The contributions would be handed over to the Siruthuli Trust at a function on March 24.
