Letters to the Editor
Sir, The Spanish vote is not a step in the right direction; it is a wrong step to right a wrong. The people of Spain have every right to protest against Spain's involvement in the U.S.-led war in Iraq, and it is also the prerogative of the incumbent Prime Minister to withdraw troops from Iraq. But the timing of the announcement was disastrous. It looks like a knee-jerk response and the terrorists will have more than achieved their purpose if the troops are withdrawn.
