GULBARGA, MARCH 22. Three students appearing for the SSLC examination, which began on Monday in the Sate, were expelled for alleged examination malpractices. They were writing the examination at three centres National High School and Government Girls High School in Gulbarga city and another at Shahabad town in Chitapur taluk. The Education Department has constituted 18 vigilance squads manned by senior officials to conduct surprise checks at the examination centres to prevent malpractices during the examination this year. Sources said here that in the Gulbarga Education District, 1,22,410 students were appearing for the examination at 77 centres and in the Yadgir Education District 9,500 students were appearing for the examination at 27 centres. The police have made elaborate security arrangements and have promulgated prohibitory order around examination centres to prevent malpractices. With most examination centres lacking infrastructure, students were forced to sit on the floor to write the examination.
