NEW DELHI, MARCH 22. Indian women wrestlers have failed to clinch any ticket to the Athens Olympic Games. The four-member team, comprising Kamini Yadav (48kg), Alka Tomar (55kg), Geetika Jakhar (63kg) and Sonica Kaliraman (72kg), failed to find a place in the second and final Olympic qualifying tournament in Madrid. In the first qualifier, held in Tunisia (March 6 to 7), Geetika came close to making the semifinals, but missed by a whisker.
As regards to the India's participation in wrestling, six freestyle grapplers, Yogeshwar Dutt (55kg), Sushil Kumar (60kg), Ramesh Kumar (66kg), Sujit Mann (74kg), Anuj Choudhary (84kg) and Palwinder Cheema (120kg), and one Greco-Roman wrestler, Mukesh Khatri, have booked their tickets to Athens Games By Our Sports Reporter
