By Our Special Correspondent
LAHORE, MARCH 22. Rameez Raja, former Pakistan Test captain, and now the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), came down strongly on the allegations of match-fixing in the ongoing Samsung ODI series saying, "Let us not dilute the intensity and the sanctity of this historic series." He was speaking to presspersons at the Gaddafi Stadium here on Monday afternoon. Rameez said, "Let's all be a part of this historic series that is being so keenly fought. If this is not done, the game will be the biggest loser in the long run." The PCB Chairman, Shaharyar M. Khan, expressed similar sentiments. "The matches so far have been very close. Both the sides have played with great intensity," he said reiterating that there was no doubt in his mind about the matches being fair. Mr. Khan also spoke on the issue of fake tickets. He said plenty of such tickets had been detected with the help of scanners at the various gates during the fourth ODI here on Sunday. He lavished praise on the Pakistani and Indian supporters for watching the match in such good spirit, and said plenty of well-known names from India would watch the decisive match of the series here on Wednesday. Both the Indian and the Pakistani teams had an optional practice session. The weather in Lahore on Monday was cloudy.
