Cuddapah
By Our Staff Reporter
CUDDAPAH, MARCH 22. A seventh class student, Chintamani Ashok (13), was electrocuted when he touched an iron nail embedded in the wall in his house at Poli village of Rajampet mandal last night when electricity passed through the houses owing to a defect in a single-phase transformer in the village. Power traversed through the walls and iron grills of about 100 houses in the village last night. The requests of villagers to disconnect power supply were allegedly ignored by Transco officials, leading to the fatality, according to a complaint lodged. The death of Ashok on Ugadi day led to a pall of gloom in the village.
