NELLORE, MARCH 22. The Project Director of the District Water Management Agency, M. Jaganmohan, has cautioned people not to resort to indiscriminate use of water in view of the quick depletion of underground water resources. Addressing a meeting held here in connection with the World Water Day on Monday, he called for better water management systems and in this connection referred to the sprinkle system, which provides for maximum usage of limited water. Such methods, he said, would not only preserve scarce water resources but would also carry the message of optimum use among the masses. He appealed to farmers to give preference to dry crops instead of paddy, which consumes lots of water.
