BANGALORE: Bharti Tele-Ventures will spend Rs. 2,000 crores to add a thousand new towns to its network, including 300 in six new circles taking the total to 2300, Manoj Kohli, the company's President (mobility), told reporters here on Monday. The money would be spent on 18 new mobile switching centres, taking the total to 53, and doubling the number of cell sites to 10,000, to handle some four billion `call minutes' a month, by some 11 million customers, Mr. Kohli said. The company would roll out its Airtel mobile service in six more circles, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh East, West Bengal, Orissa, Bihar and Rajasthan. Mobile connectivity would be provided to 20,000 new villages by the end of next fiscal, across 21 Airtel circles, he said.
